Lodge Freedom No 296 was Consecrated on July 24, 1994 at Freemasons' Hall, Damodardas Sukhadwala Marg, Mumbai 400001, by the then M. W. The Grand Master of Grand Lodge of India M.W. Bro. Gautam. R. Diwan, OSM. R. W. Bro Dr. Madhubhai K Vyas was the first Worshipful Master of the Lodge.

The Lodge was founded in order to facilitate members from the suburbs. The Lodge currently meets regularly at Freemasons' Hall, Mumbai and has members from all over Mumbai as well as outside.

Over the years, the Lodge has been under the able leadership of many Masters. The Lodge celebrated its 25 years' Silver Jubilee on Nov 20, 2019, in the presence of R. W. The Regional Grand Master of the Regional Grand Lodge of Western India R. W. Bro Mufazzal S Federal. R.W. the R.G.M. also released a Memento designed and made by Brethren of the Lodge on the occasion.

The Lodge is currently headed by W. Bro. Shravan Punjabi as Worshipful Master and W. Bro. Rahul Goenka is the Secretary. R. W. Bro. Manish Mehta is the current A. R. G. M of Lodge Freedom No 296.

We thank the Regional Grand Lodge of Western India, the Grand Lodge of India and their office bearers for their continued support and encouragement through the years.

The Lodge Members are from various walks of life and are spread across the world - doctors, businessmen, entrepreneurs, bankers, builders, international traders, senior executives from top Indian and MNC corporates in government and private sector- who come together on a common platform and share strong brotherhood with each other.

​

Members of the Lodge are also members of other Lodges in India and hold distinguished positions in their field of work. Our membership is spread across Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Dehradun in India and we also have had members from Myanmar, Japan and Nigeria. 

 

In the last few years, Lodge Freedom has improved greatly in terms of initiating its own Members as well as joining members from other Lodges.

The Lodge members involve themselves in a myriad of activities - primarily charity.

 

The Lodge has been active in supporting the needy as and when time arises. Brethren have actively donated and worked the extra mile to provide relief during the global covid-19 pandemic.
